I managed to listen to a few more Car Inspection Nightmare stories on the local radio station this afternoon, and one outrageous claim is following another, in this scam that we reported on two weeks ago. Now people are taking to the airways, and there is talk of a class action lawsuit being filed against the Dutch St Maarten Car inspection office.
For those who did not read the original report, we were there on location and shot photos and videos, of the hours long wait in line. Many people had to return for several days, to no avail.
The Car inspection office is OWNED by Touchie Meyers, although his brother in law is running it. Both Touchie’s brother Frankie Meyers and his wife are MINISTERS in parliament.
The brother of Mrs. Touchie Meyers currently runs the center.
When speaking to people waiting in line, we were told that previously they only had to slip a twenty into the inspectors hands to pass. The rate this year is $100,
and most are not willing to pay it.
What’s even more outrageous are the cars who “passed”, we are currently documenting cars who have passed, but seem to be in NO condition to be on the road.
Videos and photos coming up.
Most people driving on L.B. Scott Rd. during 12pm and 3pm have seen the above photos. The question is, is it safe having school children waiting on a bus, on the side of the road without barriers between the children and the traffic. I’ve seen this before, I’ve shot videos and pictures before, but I figured someone would have said something by now.
Who’s liable if something happens? If there was responsibility and liability, then maybe someone could ensure that children, once placed in the care of the school system are safe and protected.
